Tiger Awareness is a registered UK charity, we help with funds in India.
The organisation was formed in 1998 to give awareness to the critical plight of the Tiger. We work with local organisations in India, our funds are used at ground level where they are most needed to support education, equipment and awareness in forest areas. We believe in a hands on approach, visiting all areas, we support on a regular basis.
We help villagers that live in the Tiger range areas, we work in 3 main areas in India. In 2013, we started a handicraft project in collaboration with Saving Tiger Society this gives employment to people in the forest area of Sundarbans, it also reduces chance of man-animal conflict/deforestation. We support nature education in Dudhwa for children and cattle compensation to reduce man-animal conflict.
Our latest project, 2014, we have built a nature/art education institute in Sundarbans, working with Saving Tiger Society, there are 170 children involved, it is critical to work with local communities in forest areas. We also supported forest staff in Sundarbans, with footwear and caps. If you would like to find out more please check out our latest projects.
We will continue to look to raise funds for causes, that support Tiger conservation working with local people in the Tiger range areas, as it is felt that this is the best way forward to conserve the Tigers left in the WILD in India.
